AutoCad Academy

Miami Community Charter School’s AutoCAD Academy introduces students to technical drawing, computer-aided design, architectural drafting, and three-dimensional modeling.

Through hands-on projects and professional Autodesk software, students learn how architects, engineers, designers, and construction professionals transform ideas into accurate technical drawings and digital models.

This certification demonstrates foundational proficiency in AutoCAD. Students may be assessed on skills such as:

  • Creating and editing digital drawings
  • Managing layers and object properties
  • Working with drawing coordinates
  • Adding text, dimensions, and annotations
  • Creating and using blocks
  • Organizing layouts
  • Preparing drawings for printing and presentation

MCCS provides certification preparation through Drafting 1 and Drafting 2.

Autodesk Certified User in Revit

Certification Code: ADESK008

This certification demonstrates foundational proficiency in Autodesk Revit and building information modeling. Students may be assessed on skills such as:

  • Creating and managing building models
  • Designing walls, floors, roofs, doors, and windows
  • Developing floor plans, elevations, and sections
  • Adding dimensions and annotations
  • Organizing views and sheets
  • Preparing architectural documentation
  • Presenting three-dimensional building designs

MCCS provides certification preparation through Drafting 3.

Completing a course does not automatically earn an Autodesk certification. Students must complete the applicable requirements and pass the official certification examination.

Drafting 1

Grade 9 – Year 1

Students are introduced to the fundamental principles of technical drawing and computer-aided design.

They learn how drawings communicate ideas in architecture, engineering, manufacturing, construction, and other technical fields. Coursework may include sketching, geometric construction, measurement, lettering, dimensioning, multiview drawings, and introductory CAD tools.

Students also begin using AutoCAD to create accurate digital drawings.

Students expand their drafting knowledge through advanced design concepts and three-dimensional building modeling.
